This past weekend, I had the honor of spending an afternoon hiking Starved Rock State Park’s trails with this beautiful family, venturing the canyons personally dressed as Laura Croft with a double camera harness and my hubby in tow. (He makes a great assistant, especially when I climb up rather steep rocks hugging a cliff in order to get just the right shot.)
This shoot was truly an adventure. We hiked about a mile to a mile and a half beneath tall trees and walls of grey and moss covered rocks. The trials were pretty nonexistent leaving us to make our own path for the most part. We crossed creek after creek, muddied up our clothes, played in the rain, and laughed the entire time.
The canyons of Starved Rock are incredible any time of year with a new story to tell each time you pass through. But this weekend, it really showed off and celebrate with us the story of this growing family.
